Around 170,000 unique guests have visited the Arena during these three years. The venue has been used for 124 events of various formats, including 26 sports competitions, 44 MICE events, 39 music shows and concerts, as well as 15 branded activities.
Irina Borisova, RED ARENA CEO, gave an account of the most significant events: “I am proud of our team of professionals. In January 2020, we successfully completed a project to reconfigure the arena three times in just 24 hours. First, we hosted a boxing tournament broadcast live on MATCH TV channel in the morning. By the evening, the venue had been converted into an ice rink for Tatyana Navka's show. And, closer to midnight, guests showed up for a music show with a huge dance floor.”
Quite remarkably, the venue is used regularly for a variety of martial arts events. RED ARENA regularly hosts tournaments such as AMC FIGHT NIGHTS, EFC, ACA and BRAVE tournaments organized by the Russian Boxing and Muay Thai Federations.
For example, the organizers of the AMC FIGHT NIGHTS held on 14 October 2022 brought their fighters to the gaming zone for the eighth time. Tournaments like this have become hallmark events on the sports calendar of Russia’s south. As many as 3,000 guests visited each of these brutal shows. Kamil Gadzhiev, the event's Promotion President, expressed confidence in continued cooperation with the venue and gave his appreciation of the ultimate proficiency of our staff: “RED ARENA is up for many other interesting projects, most particularly because it is run by a team of real professionals, making success inevitable.”
The fight between Vladimir Mineev and Magomed Ismailov was a sort of climax in the cooperation between RED ARENA and AMC FIGHT NIGHTS. The venue’s CEO Irina Borisova told how they got ready for this fight: “This standoff was the pinnacle event for us at the Arena and for all the fans of mixed martial arts in Russia in 2021. We realized how extremely responsible and exclusive this fight was to be. So it took our team six months to prepare for this big day. We had 700 people a day working on the preparations. These were the promotion staff and venue team, police officers, volunteers, technical staff, film crew and other contributors.”
This autumn, the Arena hosted bare-knuckle fights for the first time. The event was organized by the TOP DOG league. The promotion team, which has become an online phenomenon in our country, was happy with its decision to hold the fights at Krasnaya Polyana Gaming Zone. The organization's GM Andrey Kostetsky told how venues influenced the event's vibe and even the sports outcome: “With the abundance of LED screens and the convenient design of RED ARENA, TOP DOG held one of the most vibrant tournaments in the league's history.
The Arena subtly managed to convey the vibe of our organization when fighters and the audience become one. Not every venue can do that. Hence the eye-catching fights with unexpected outcomes: out of 16 fights, seven ended earlier than expected, and four fighters rated by the bookmaker as obvious underdogs managed to maintain true suspense. In addition, RED ARENA hosted the TOP DOG's debuts by renowned MMA fighter David Khachatryan and Ivan Abramov, winner of the European boxing championship. We have only held one tournament so far but we hope to come back next year."
Fighting competitions are not the only type of event the venue can host. In the spring of 2022, it hosted the Russia 3x3 Basketball Cup. They managed to set up a 12x10 m training court and a 16x15 m main court inside the Arena and to build a spectator stand for 1,100 people. Then, in summer this year, the venue held its first branded cyber sports competition – Cyber Fun Fest by RED ARENA. The tournament was unique for having the largest gaming surface in the history of such events. This paved our venue’s way into the Russian Book of Records. Virtual battles among players from Russia, Japan, Mexico, Iran and other countries were displayed on the largest media façade in the Sochi Mountain cluster, with a total screen area of 216 square meters.
Apart from sports, RED ARENA is a regular touring location for Russia's major showbiz celebrities. During the three years the venue has been in business, guests of Krasnaya Polyana Gaming Zone have seen concerts by the country's top stand-up comedians, music shows by Zivert, Dima Bilan, Basta, BI-2, Polina Gagarina, Night Snipers, Elena Vaenga, as well as the Zhara (Heat) music festival featuring Grigory Leps, Yegor Kreed, Sergey Lazarev and many others.
With its extensive technical capabilities, the Arena has successfully hosted a number of MICE events. The highest-profile events included the meeting of Dmitry Portnyagin's Club 500, the Like Center conference, the Movement forum, the Urban Awards and others.
The venue's 2023 event calendar is already full. As usual, Krasnaya Polyana Gaming Zone’s will be invited to attend a broad spectrum of adrenaline-filled fights, high-profile musicals, music shows by Russian major showbiz celebrities, eSports tournaments and business conferences.
